RE: Rear axle bearings IP: Logged Message: Jack it up and remove the tires you need to do both sides at the same time You may need to back off the break adjusters so the shoes clear and thr drum will not hang up If the drum is stuck on thats ok just pull as assy remove the 10 bolts from the rear cover rotate

Did my passenger side rear last night. Made a breeze by the excellent write-up here, including Isorense's comment about not driving the new one on via the outer ring. I used a 3/4 drive socket of the appropriate diameter to mate up with the bearing race to drive it on far enough to start the axle nut. Thanks all! _____
The only intechangable parts I believe are the brake shoes for the rear axle. All Banjo parts are interchangleable between CHEVY and GMC trucks. However the front rear drive axle has differant lenght axle shafts from a Chevy axle because of the offset of the pumpkin, the rear drive axle shafts are the same as a Chevy.

Rear axle housing modified to accept an E-locker converted to cable actuated. The linkage Used the e-brake cable to operate (who needs an ebrake with low gears )
It can be done with other tools, I used a bearing puller and large socket on one, liquid-nitrogen works well to soak the bearing for re-installation
